Maria Popova, the curator extraordinaire behind Brainpickings.org, selected an array of books to be featured at the front of the New York Public Library's gift shop. She approached Kelli Anderson — who makes astonishingly imaginative creations out of paper — to bring the collection to life.
Kelli produced forty 3D books by cutting, gluing, and engineering paper, then developed a custom hanging truss to suspend her paper world within a display case at the library.
We documented the installation in two ways: in advance of the install to capture the dimension and texture of the paper, and also as a time lapse while the team worked through the night building the installation (down below).
