We’ve photographed The New Yorker Festival for several years running. Over three days in early October, we’re running around the city, soaking up a year’s worth of performances and well-articulated arguments. In addition to meeting all the writers we’re immensely fond of (Junot Diaz, Malcolm Gladwell, George Saunders, Atul Gawande, Jill Lepore), we got to see Aziz Ansari, Lena Dunham, Fred Armisen, Kim Gordon, and a great series of The Moth with New Yorker staffers at the mic.
This year’s highlight might have been then teenage fashion blogger / maven / superstar Tavi Gavinson, who celebrated the publication of her second issue of Rookie Yearbook. The printing is to die for, and even as a boy, I wish it'd existed when I was in high school.
